The Navagio beach is the No 1 zakynthian sight, even if someone does not have the chance to dive in its special sea water, they must definitely admire it from above.

The Navagio beach is located on the north-western part of Zakynthos island, 22km away from Alykanas and 30km (about 52 min drive) from Zakynthos town. Navagio is an amazing beach surrounded by wild rocks with rich vegetation. The sand is soft and golden while the sea water is often painted with different shades of blue, due to the numerous sulfur springs existing in the caves around the beach that release big quantities of sulfur during the anosis times, giving you the chance for colourful photographs.

The beach is accessible only by the sea. There are a lot of boats leaving daily from Zakynthos port, Laganas Gulf and Alykes that sail around the island. Also from Agios Nikolas Volimon and Skinari (the closest areas to Navagio), small boats run very often sailing towards Navagio and the Blue Caves.

By car, Navagio is in the distance of 30km from Zakynthos town. Taking the road to Volimes through the zakynthian mountains and passing the village of Anafonitria at The monastery of Agios Giorgos ton Gremnon, following the signs, you easily find the special platform that " hangs" above Navagio where you can admire the breathtaking view and take pictures. We, as locals advice you to visit Navagio in the morning since, there is the possibility of rough sea during the afternoon.
