The "new" to all Greece Overnight Stay Tax
Beginning the year of 2018, every guest visiting beautiful Greece and our beautiful island of Zakynthos will have to pay an Overnight Stay Tax which was introduced by the Greek Ministry of Tourism. The tax was introduced to aim at enhancing the State revenue in the context of the current fiscal adjustment programme. The Stay Tax will be collected during every guest's arrival at their chosen accommodation. The Overnight Stay Tax works out to 0,50 - 4 € per night depending on the type of accommodation booked by the guest. The amount paid will depend on the official rating of your chosen accommodation, as set out in the table below:

When do you pay the Overnight Stay Tax and how to pay:
You’ll be asked to pay the Overnight Stay Tax when you check-in at your accommodation, this can be paid by cash or card.
Why do I have to pay the Overnight Stay Tax:
The Overnight Stay Tax is something new to Greece and is aimed mostly towards tourists visiting our country. The Overnight Stay Tax is beyond our websites and hoteliers control. The Government Overnight Stay imposed tax by all guests (Greek and foreigners ) while staying in any accommodations located in Greece. We do understand that this cost was not something expected by guests coming to Zakynthos, but it is something the Government decided to in force in a very short period of time.
